Legacy
Within minutes of listening to his set, the dancing crowd understands why the evening's turntable armed "Pied Piper" has been named DJ Legacy. He is not just another DJ or turntablist, but a studied historian of music and the sub-cultures that follow the genres he mixes. He continues the legacy of incorporating the turntable techniques originated by DMC World DJ Competitions that date back to the mid 80's, yet he has been able to create his own recognizable style. DJ Legacy started spinning in 1998 during a time in the North East where battle DJ's in which to emulate were few and far between. Out of the gate Legacy was forced to create his own style of mixing, based on musical knowledge and feel. He uses his ability to read a crowd and his understanding of music to make even the most veteran club goers feel like they just experienced something new. His transitions are smooth, and melodic using just the right amount of incorporated table skills to keep the energy up. The dancing never stops as DJ Legacy seamlessly flows in and out of multiple musical genres; from old school hip-hop fused with R&B classics, to raw dancehall vibes, to the golden era of "boom bap." DJ Legacy has started one of his own, which is why he continues to be one of the North East's most respected and sought after DJ's.
